Corneal Topography is a non-invasive photography scan technique which maps the surface of the cornea (the clear front part of the eye).
This scan technology allows your ophthalmologist to measure and map your cornea which includes its thickness and elevation changes.
A corneal topography is done to check any scarring, growths, astigmatism and keratoconus of and on the cornea respectively.
A corneal topography scan is also used for contact lens fitting as it takes the exact measurement of your cornea.
This procedure is also used in the preparation of certain eye surgeries like Cataract, LASIK or PRK and Cornea Transplant.
